SCENE 1 | Big Bird welcomes the viewer, telling them that Granny Bird's birthday is next week and he has a gift to mail her. He asks Gordon to help wrap it, until it's revealed the gift is a live goldfish. Gordon tells Big Bird he can't put this in the mail, as Big Bird realizes that the water might escape the bowl during the trip (not to mention getting the mail carrier wet). Big Bird decides to give him the fish as an early birthday gift for Gordon, and dashes off to find something else for Granny Bird.

Ernie has to put the cookies somewhere, so he put them in the sugar bowl – and put the sugar in the flowerpot, which meant that he had to put the flower in a milk bottle. He put the milk in the soda bottle, the soda into the fishbowl, and the fish in Bert's cowboy hat. Bert asks, "Now what am I going to wear when I want to play cowboy?" Ernie puts the pot on Bert's head and says, "Ride 'em, cowboy, Bert!" (First: Episode 0305)

SCENE 2 | Big Bird's next gift idea is a bouquet of flowers in a water-less vase, learning the potential problems from before. Big Bird gives the flowers to Gordon as another birthday present before running out for a new gift.

Big Bird reveals a drawing he's made, showing the various other gifts he intended to send on a table with text reading "Happy Birthday Granny Bird! Love from Big Bird." Gordon is speechless, and thinks it's a marvelous gift. Big Bird asks him to wrap it, along with an ice cream cone he thinks Granny Bird will like as well.
