SCENE 1 Big Bird welcomes the viewer, telling them that Granny Bird's birthday is next week and he has a gift to mail her. He asks Gordon to help wrap it, until it's revealed the gift is a live goldfish. Gordon tells Big Bird he can't put this in the mail, as Big Bird realizes that the water might escape the bowl during the trip (not to mention getting the mail carrier wet). Big Bird decides to give him the fish as an early birthday gift for Gordon, and dashes off to find something else for Granny Bird.

He put the milk in the soda bottle, the soda into the fishbowl, and the fish in Bert's cowboy hat. Bert asks, "Now what am I going to wear when I want to play cowboy?"
