SCENE 1 | Big Bird finds it fun to talk loud and decides to spend the day doing so. He makes his way to Hooper's Store, drowning out everyone else's conversations with his loud talking. Big Bird thinks everyone can compensate by talking just as loudly, but David has him imagine how poorly things would go if they did. Big Bird realizes how chaotic it can be and decides to speak at a whisper now, which David can barely hear. | |

The call is instead from Mr. Hooper. Meanwhile, Snuffy gets a busy signal as he makes his call. This happens again when Grace calls her grandson David, which Big Bird mocks in frustration. David and Maria finally lock up, despite Big Bird's protests to wait for Snuffy's call. The phone starts ringing, but David insists whatever the call is about can wait until tomorrow.
