SCENE 1 Telly introduces Maria, Luis and Big Bird to his best friend Aristotle ("Ari" for short), a fellow monster who loves helping, collecting items and is also blind. By the sound of their voices, Aristotle is able to tell that Maria is big, Luis is bigger and Big Bird is the biggest of them all. He invites Big Bird to be a member of his "giant collection" (which includes a whale, panda and Dr. J).

Cartoon A young bespectacled man with an accordion asks how much it costs to cross the bridge. The Bridgekeeper says admission is free, but requires that the young man show him three triangles. Two of them are found in the bridgework, and the man uses the bridgekeeper's staff to draw a third triangle in the dirt. Although the bridgekeeper has his order filled, he asks the man to play a tune on his accordion. This additional request takes the young man by surprise, but he is told to do so for the opportunity to cross the bridge.

Luis gives him some regular balloons as well and Oscar realizes Ari isn't a Grouch like him despite his interest in broken items. "Nobody's perfect," Oscar remarks and they drive off, while Luis announces the sponsors.
