Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 Maria does some work in Fix-It Shop, when in walks Zero, a penguin cousin of Big Bird's. He's come to visit all the way from the South Pole. Maria spots Big Bird coming over and proposes that Zero hide and surprise him (despite the store being too hot for him). Big Bird struggles to put together the clues, while Zero boils from behind the worktable. He finally reveals herself and rushes outside where it's cold.

SCENE 2 Zero and Big Bird argue over whether or not it's cold outside. Big Bird shows him the thermometer he's borrowed from Mr. Snuffleupagus, showing it to be 20 degrees. A group of Honkers come by, shivering, and get in on the fight, siding with Big Bird. Susan settles the matter, saying that because they're both accustomed to different climates, they're both correct. Maria comes over to inform everyone that the weather report is calling for a blizzard bringing 20 inches of snow. While everyone else sees this as a bad thing, Zero thinks it's good; he'll have plenty of fun playing in it!
Muppets News anchorman Kermit concludes his news program with a weather report by their new news anchor, Simon Soundman, who does a weather report using sounds for different kinds of weather (wind blowing, a foghorn for fog, and rain and thunder for a rainstorm,). Kermit fires him and calls for another weatherman, who has a more "visual" approach to reporting it.
