SCENE 1 As snow falls on Sesame Street, Maria's cousin Mercedes goes outside to observe it, since it never snows in Puerto Rico. In Hooper's Store, Mr. Hooper gives Big Bird and Zero their take out order. Zero is ready to get back out in the cold, but more and more people pile into the store as he tries to get out.
Cartoon A blue man (voiced by Casey Kasem) explains that “Q” starts the word “quarter.”

SCENE 5 Mercedes is ready to head to the airport in Oscar's Sloppy Jalopy, as no other taxis can be reached in the snowstorm. The car won't start, so Oscar turns on the radio (which usually starts it). A Grouch weather report indicates that the weather conditions have halted all outgoing flights, including Mercedes'. The rest of the gang celebrates, while Oscar tries to make his way to the airport anyhow to see all the grounded airplanes (if he can start the car). The radio host announces the sponsors, as the credits roll over scenes of the street covered in snow.
