SCENE 1 Everyone fawns over the igloo that Zero has made, paying no attention to Big Bird. He tries various things to get them to notice him, but with no luck. He thinks becoming a penguin might help and darts off.

They give him a message to pass along to Big Bird, saying that they still love him even if they pay a little more attention to Zero sometimes. Big Bird sheds his disguise and they hug him, then they all practice waddling like a penguin.

As Mercedes hugs everyone goodbye, she gets an idea and whispers to Maria. She declares that Mercedes is staying for another day!

The two would rather have each other's dishes, with Zero requesting some ice cubes for his soup and Telly asking to heat up his ice cream.

Insert The Count greets Bob while he's talking to the audience about near and far. He's a little sad and comments on how there are no footprints in the freshly fallen snow yet. Bob excuses himself to continue the lesson, but the Count offers to help. Once he's shown that he's "near" Bob, he asks him to walk away from him to demonstrate "far". They repeat this a few times until the Count says that should be enough. When Bob asks what he means, the Count explains that he now has plenty of footprints in the snow to count.
