SCENE 1 A Howard Cosell-type announcer narrates as Barkley tries to find shelter from a downpour. The Fix-It Shop is closed, a racket of pots and pans falling in Hooper's Store (caused by himself) frightens him away and Oscar refuses to let him into his can. He finally finds shelter at Big Bird's nest, where Big Bird invites him under his large umbrella.
Cartoon Melvin the Moving Man has magnificent muscles.

SCENE 3 A few blocks away from Sesame Street, Luis, David and Olivia want to present subtraction, but then another rainstorm arrives. Oscar pulls up in his Sloppy Jalopy and the adults reluctantly get inside. Oscar eagerly takes up their idea to show subtraction and has them leave the car one by one to illustrate it. Oscar then declares he's off the clock and drives off, leaving them stuck in the rain.
Cartoon A man wants a hat, but the hat shop owner's hats are all the same - except for a ten-gallon hat, which complements the customer's horseback riding nicely.
