SCENE 1 | Sully is out sick today, so Biff has hired Forgetful Jones to replace him. They've finished replacing some of the cement outside the front door of Hooper's Store, but Mr. Hooper points out that it's still wet; he can't have his customers coming in through the back. As the three debate over this, Oscar tells Bruno the Trashman to bring him and his can over to hear the argument. Before he gets there, Mr. Hooper proposes they get a board from the Fix-It Shop to put over the cement to the doorway until it dries. Oscar is disappointed by the cheerful results as the others head inside for some hot chocolate, while Oscar argues with Bruno over the latter wanting to stay for a cup.

Big Bird goes to the back door, but Snuffy is unable to cross the thin piece of wood leading to the front door. He goes around back, just as Mr. Hooper agrees to use the front door. The two then head there themselves, just as Mr. Hooper goes to the back again. They agree Snuffy could never fit over one board, so Snuffy decides to fetch a second one.
