SCENE 1 Big Bird tries to present today's sponsors, but Mr. Snuffleupagus gets in front of Big Bird and blocks his view of the audience at home. He teaches Snuffy the difference between front and back and requests Snuffy stay in back of him. Snuffy again finds himself in front, but asks Big Bird to face the other way so he's now in back.

SCENE 2 Maria hears the loud sounds of pen squeaking coming from Oscar's trash can. Oscar reveals he's working on a new book and allows Maria to read the first copy. The book is titled 8 Ways to Feel Really Rotten, which details eight methods of putting yourself in a grouchy mood. Maria can't find the last entry, which Oscar claims is "Get Sticky/Gooey Stuff All Over Your Fingers." He asserts that it's in the book and Maria learns the hard way that he's correct, as her fingers are now stuck to the book. She manages to get it stuck between her legs and waddles off, vowing revenge somehow.
