David says he thinks he could give it a shot, by remembering, and proceeds to make the egg cream according to his memory of Mr. Hooper's method. Gordon trys it, and says it's good, but not as good as Mr. Hooper's. Telly is convinced that David has failed, but in David's defense, Mr. Hooper had years to perfect his technique; David is new at this, and just needs practise. He resolves to try again, and begins making another egg cream. (YouTube)

Gordon tastes this one, and says Mr. Hooper would be proud. David is elated at having made an egg creme as good as Mr. Hooper's, but Gordon counters that he didn't quite say that. There's no way David could give it that special Mr. Hooper touch because he's not Mr. Hooper. Telly concedes that there are now three ways to make an egg creme: Mr. Hooper's way, the way that doesn't taste as good, and David's way.
