SCENE 1 | At Hooper's Store, the Amazing Mumford is ready to do his finest new trick - making the three ice cream sodas on the counter disappear. However, his trick instead makes the kids disappear one by one. He tries one final time, finally making all the sodas vanish. David raises concern about the kids' whereabouts, but Mumford is too distracted celebrating his success. He goes outside and spots the kids and their sodas flying in mid-air.
