SCENE 1 Acting in her role as a nurse, Susan gives the Two-Headed Monster a checkup. When it comes to to inoculate them, they resist and insist that they're healthy. Susan explains this will help them stay healthy, and administers the shot without them even noticing.

SCENE 2 Forgetful Jones places a number 7 on the counter at Hooper's Store and asks David for seven of them. David asks, "seven what?" but Forgetful can't remember. The cans of dog food in the store reminds him it might be food for his seven dogs. He can't remember what their names are, but says they're named after the Seven Dwarves. David starts listing them off, and recruits Susan to help when she arrives, but they struggle through trying to think of all their names. Forgetful scoffs, "and people say I have trouble remembering names."

SCENE 3 Oscar the Grouch enters Hooper's as David and Susan are still trying to remember the name of that seventh dwarf. He asks for an onion and a tube of anchovy paste, but nobody hears him over the dwarf name guessing. He asks again, more forecully this time, and does a take to the camera annoyed at being ignored and threatening to go to another store. His grouchiness reaches a level that prompt David and Susan to remember the seventh dwarf: Grumpy! They shower him with thanks as Oscar wishes he hadn't done whatever he did to assist.

SCENE 4 The Two-Headed Monster wears a baseball glove, but doesn't have a ball, so they go to Hooper's to buy one. When they reach the door, they're sad to see the closed sign, but David lets them in and eventually realizes they need a ball. As the monster turns to leave, they become sad again as the closed sign now faces inward.

SCENE 5 A Honker is trying to order something in Hooper's Store, but David can't understand him. He spots Big Bird standing in front of his construction doors and runs over to recuit his help; Big Bird can speak honk. Big Bird says he can't leave right now because he's waiting for Mr. Snuffleupagus, but he'll be happy to translate for him. David rushes back, memorizes the inflections in the Honker's query, and runs back to Big Bird who translates: ham and cheese on rye. David returns, makes the sandwich, but the Honker makes another request which David has to get Big Bird to translate: he wants it with tomato. The Honker satisfied, a Dinger arrives now with a request. David approaches Big Bird with a series of dings, but he has no idea what he's going on about. Big Bird speaks honk, not ding, but suggests David wait around for Snuffy since he's fluent in ding.

SCENE 6 The Dinger continues dinging in Hooper's, but David still can't understand him. Big Bird is on the phone telling Snuffy he's sorry he couldn't make it to play today, but asks him to translate what the Dinger is saying: he's been asking for an orange. David obliges and expresses relief over the quiet that has finally fallen on the store.
