SCENE 1 In the Fix-It Shop, David plays a computer game with Elmo (Kevin Clash), who discerns whether the items shown onscreen are the same or different. David wraps up the game after a few rounds, but he tells Elmo that he doesn't need a computer to play the same/different game and takes him to Hooper's Store.

SCENE 1 cont'd David points Elmo to an assortment of cans on the store counter and tasks him with finding cans that are the same and different. David briefly steps outside to clear a table in the arbor. As he heads back to the store, he overhears Elmo muttering "same" over and over, and discovers that he's removed all of the can labels, so now they all look the same! Elmo thanks David for the nice game and leaves, while David glumly tries to figure out which can is which.

SCENE 2 Buster the Horse greets Oscar and asks how he's enjoying the day. Oscar responds negatively, complaining about the lack of smog and noisy traffic. Buster notes how contrary Oscar is. Oscar asks what "contrary" means, which Buster defines as people who don't agree with anything. Oscar confirms that he is contrary, but Buster points out that he just agreed with him, which isn't very contrary. Oscar then goes back and forth on whether he wants to agree or be contrary. Buster concludes that Oscar is "confused," and asks if he knows what the word means. Insulted, Oscar gives Buster several synonyms for "Go away and don't bother me," and Buster promptly trots off. Oscar grumbles "Just what I don't need around hereβ€”a horse with a galloping tongue."
