Telly decides to do all three, but before he leaves, Noah asks him to watch his chair while he goes to read the dictionary. Telly recognizes this as another way to save one's seat, before realizing he won't be able to leave himself. He gets the idea to lean Noah's chair against the table, but notices he still can't go to use the dictionary because that's what Noah's doing. | |

Oscar covers his eyes and counts only to find Elmo hasn't moved, as he doesn't know what "hide" means. Oscar explains that Elmo needs to go where he can't see him. | |
SCENE 3 cont'd | Oscar counts again and doesn't see Elmo, until he appears from behind the can. Oscar instructs Elmo to find a harder hiding place and stay there. Oscar counts once more, and finally, Elmo is gone. Oscar looks forward to not seeking and not being bothered, but he soon fears that Elmo may stay hiding and not come home to his mother. Oscar guilts himself into looking for Elmo after all. | |

She tries not to blow his cover while talking with Oscar, who's clearly worried about not being able to find him. Maria assures Oscar that if she sees Elmo, she'll let him know he's worried about him. Oscar refuses, not wanting it known that he's worried about anybody. Having overheard, Elmo feels bad and decides to help Oscar find him. | |
