SCENE 1 Maria tests out a scale she's just finished repairing and delights that it works just fine. Forgetful Jones thinks the device is still busted, mistaking it for a clock. As Maria gives him examples of how scales are used, he realizes his mother sent him out to buy three pounds of tomatoes...three years ago. He produces the bag of now rotten tomatoes, having forgotten to bring them home.
Song "Hello, Scale," a film about measuring weight.

However, Grover tells Kermit that he has come to give him something: a hairpiece. Once it is on Kermit's head, Kermit decides that it doesn't look very good. Grover agrees, and offers to sell him a comb, a hair brush, some shampoo, and hair tonic.

As Bob tries to explain this to Maria, Forgetful announces the sponsors and begins to snack on an orange.
