SCENE 2 Maria finds Gladys in the midst of an acting exercise. She's going to play the titular cat in a production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, thus she dresses as a cat and tries to mimic the meowing a real cat (Kevin Clash) makes. However, Gladys never gets it quite right and Maria has to demonstrate. Gladys grows resentful of Maria's intervention and eventually forces the cat outfit on her, haughtily proposing she play the role instead.

Cartoon A young bespectacled man with an accordion asks how much it costs to cross the bridge. The Bridgekeeper says admission is free, but requires that the young man show him three triangles. Two of them are found in the bridgework, and the man uses the bridgekeeper's staff to draw a third triangle in the dirt. Although the bridgekeeper has his order filled, he asks the man to play a tune on his accordion. This additional request takes the young man by surprise, but he is told to do so for the opportunity to cross the bridge.

SCENE 3 Big Bird interrupts a photoshoot with Gordon and Olivia, asking if they can write a note for him; he needs written permission from an adult in order to spend the night at Mr. Snuffleupagus' cave. Although Olivia wants to take her photos, Gordon agrees to help write it and states, "How long can it take to write a note?" He arrives at Big Bird's nest to find a giant pencil and sheet of paper for him to use. He finds it difficult to write quickly and effectively like this, until Big Bird offers him a normal pad of paper and regular-sized pencil to use instead.

He's confused to see his own name on the list, which means Big Bird wants to take him with him. Gordon is reluctant at first, but ultimately agrees to come along. He heads home to pack and explains this to Olivia, who can hardly believe what she hears.

SCENE 5 Big Bird gets off the phone just as Snuffy arrives to escort him back to his cave. Big Bird has some bad news: Granny Bird wants him to come over and help prepare some birdseed brownies. Snuffy understands and heads back home, just as Gordon arrives, eager to visit Snuffy's cave. Big Bird breaks the news to him too, but Gordon's mind is made up; he'd like to visit the cave anyhow. Big Bird struggles to describe how to get there and isn't able to escort Gordon there personally. "Things were a lot simpler when I didn't believe [Snuffy] was real," Gordon remarks. Big Bird comforts him as Olivia announces the sponsors.
