SCENE 1 | Telly Monster wasn't ready for the viewer to arrive so soon. He wanted to surprise them with a poem, but he needs a word that rhymes with "street." Bob comes by listening to his walkman and suggests "beat" as a rhyme, but Telly has trouble contextualizing it in a poem about Sesame Street. Same with Susan, whose shoes have given her aching "feet." Grundgetta offers "fuchsia-face" an icky rhyming word: "neat," which is what she thinks is wrong with this street. She decides, as a start, to toss out a can of confetti to the ground. Luckily, Telly is able to finish his poem...

SCENE 2 | In the yard, Luis is writing a birthday card to his cousin when he hears Elmo calling for him. Luis knows Elmo will want to play a game, but he wants to finish his card first, so he hides in Hooper's Store and resumes writing. He still hears Elmo calling from nearby, so he sneaks outside, and then into the Fix-It Shop where he finishes writing his note, seals the card in an envelope, and stamps it. Luis goes to mail his card and sees no sign of Elmo, who suddenly pops up just as he files it into the mailbox. Elmo tells Luis that he's found him in a game of hide-and-seek, and tags him "it." |
