SCENE 1 Everyone is setting up a party for Telly Monster's birthday, but Telly is nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Telly is seen sitting on a bench in the park. He fears people may forget about his birthday and not doing anything to celebrate, so he's staying in the park to avoid any bad feelings.
SCENE 1 cont'd Back on the street, the adults decide to kill time until Telly is found with a party game. They all sing "A Cat Had a Birthday."
