SCENE 1 | Oscar conspires with a Honker to play a trick on Telly in the guise of a game. Oscar points out the letter C on the Honker's hat and if Telly correctly guesses the C word they're thinking of, they'll buy him an ice cream cone; a wrong answer means he'll be pelted with old paper. Telly guesses the C word is "cap," but Oscar tells him he's wrong; they were instead thinking of the word "curls," referring to the mop of curly hair under the Honker's hat. Oscar pours a box of paper over Telly as promised. The Honker rates the trick a mere one honk, so Oscar schemes to improve it. |

SCENE 3 | Oscar starts up one more round of his game, allowing Telly as many guesses as he likes. Telly has a list of various C words prepared, but when it ends, he's left stumped. Oscar points out the C word is "cap," Telly's original guess. He receives more paper dumped on him and he runs off. Oscar asks the Honker for his opinion now and the Honker wildly honks in approval, but to Oscar's dismay, he shows no signs of stopping. |
