Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 While cleaning his nest, Big Bird tells the viewer that everyone has gone downtown except for him and Susan, who is busy watching a football game. He also states that Barkley is around, but can't find him. He briefly thinks he also hopped a bus downtown before realizing dogs don't have money. He starts wandering around looking for Barkley, unaware the dog is closer than he thinks.

Muppets Two Anything Muppet kids argue over a cookie. Cookie Monster arrives and says that the smallest person should get the cookie, and then, as the kids argue over which one is smaller, Cookie Monster shrinks himself.

SCENE 2 Big Bird hasn't found Barkley yet, but sees a police officer, Officer George Patinkin (Mandy Patinkin), on the block. He describes Barkley to the officer, who drops the case when he realizes the missing individual is a dog, not a person. Big Bird convinces him to help and leads him to his nest where he last saw Barkley. The dog follows them, unnoticed, and gets shut out when they close the door.
Film Kid voiceovers identify a horse's body parts (shown one at a time), then the complete animal.

SCENE 3 Big Bird struggles with pronouncing Officer Patinkin's last name, but the officer lets Big Bird call him by his first name, George, instead. Only now, Big Bird can't pronounce "officer." They continue their search, as Barkley sleeps right outside the door.
Cartoon A man needs directions to Maple Street. A citizen gives him a complicated set of directions, while a little girl points out they're already there.

Animation Three balls compare sizes. An orange ball (voiced by Daws Butler) boasts that he's the smallest, until his little brother comes onto the scene.

Muppets Ernie plans on copying Bert's felt board template called "Cookies on a Plate in a Room with a Window" which features just that. Ernie goes through various pieces, seeing which ones match Bert's. Once he finishes, Cookie Monster enters the apartment and complements the picture, but likes Bert's more and rips the cookies of the picture and eats them. Ernie sobs, as now his picture is different from Bert's, so Cookie solves everything by eating the cookies off of Ernie's picture.

SCENE 4 Barkley wakes up and chases after a boy on his bicycle, just before Big Bird and George exit the nest. Officer George thinks Barkley has just gone off and will come back eventually like he always does. He claims he can't help any longer, as this is search is taking up his lunch hour and he hasn't eaten yet. He resolves to stay and help Big Bird anyhow, and two go inside 123 Sesame Street to check with Susan. Barkley, behind the banister the whole time, now goes off following another kid.

Muppets Lefty's boss tells Lefty the plan for what to do with the Golden AN, which they have just stolen. Lefty is to put it in the tan van and give it to Dan, who will take it to Fran. However, Lefty can't remember the plan very well and has to repeat it, which results in a police officer named Stan hearing the plan and giving him "ten days in the can for stealing the Golden AN."

SCENE 5 Susan hasn't seen Barkley either, so Big Bird suggests they say the alphabet, for no real reason at all. Once they reach Z, Barkley alerts them of his presence. Big Bird celebrates that the alphabet helped and that Barkley's returned.

Muppets Ernie & BertErnie and Bert explore an Egyptian pyramid. Bert is excited, but Ernie is afraid. They see statues that look like them. Bert decides to explore a tunnel while Ernie looks at the statues, and then the Ernie statue starts tapping and talking to Ernie. But when Ernie calls Bert back to the room, the statue doesn't move. Ernie is scared until the statue starts singing Rubber Duckie with him. Bert doesn't believe Ernie, until he says "Bye-bye, statue," and the statue replies "Bye-bye!" and laughs... just like Ernie.

SCENE 7 Officer George returns to his beat. Big Bird invites him to join his friends at the park on Sunday. Big Bird says, "Isn't it great, Barkley? We're gonna have Sunday in the Park with Ossifer George!" He and Barkley start playing as Officer George announces the sponsors. A special credit crawl follows, using footage from the song "Jogging." So ends the 16th season of Sesame Street.
