SCENE 1 While cleaning his nest, Big Bird tells the viewer that everyone has gone downtown except for him and Susan, who is busy watching a football game. He also states that Barkley is around, but can't find him. He briefly thinks he also hopped a bus downtown before realizing dogs don't have money. He starts wandering around looking for Barkley, unaware the dog is closer than he thinks.

He describes Barkley to the officer, who drops the case when he realizes the missing individual is a dog, not a person. Big Bird convinces him to help and leads him to his nest where he last saw Barkley. The dog follows them, unnoticed, and gets shut out when they close the door.

Ernie goes through various pieces, seeing which ones match Bert's. Once he finishes, Cookie Monster enters the apartment and complements the picture, but likes Bert's more and rips the cookies of the picture and eats them. Ernie sobs, as now his picture is different from Bert's, so Cookie solves everything by eating the cookies off of Ernie's picture.

SCENE 4 Barkley wakes up and chases after a boy on his bicycle, just before Big Bird and George exit the nest. Officer George thinks Barkley has just gone off and will come back eventually like he always does. He claims he can't help any longer, as this is search is taking up his lunch hour and he hasn't eaten yet. He resolves to stay and help Big Bird anyhow, and two go inside 123 Sesame Street to check with Susan. Barkley, behind the banister the whole time, now goes off following another kid.

Ernie is scared until the statue starts singing Rubber Duckie with him. Bert doesn't believe Ernie, until he says "Bye-bye, statue," and the statue replies "Bye-bye!" and laughs... just like Ernie.

We're gonna have Sunday in the Park with Ossifer George!" He and Barkley start playing as Officer George announces the sponsors. A special credit crawl follows, using footage from the song "Jogging." So ends the 16th season of Sesame Street.
