SCENE 1 | While Oscar and Susan argue over the placement of Oscar's piano positioned in front of his trash can, along comes Mrs. Trump to play a happy tune. They're joined by Maria, Gordon, and the kids, who enjoy the music so much that Oscar accedes to Susan's wishes and attempts to move it away. Everyone protests, insisting that the piano stay where it is. The group moves the piano so there's enough room for people to walk around it and Mrs. Trump continues to play. |

SCENE 3 | Oscar has moved the piano to the yard where he's playing a concert with Grundgetta and his Grouch band for the whole neighborhood to hear (whether they like it or not). Gordon leads a rendition of "Three of These Things" comparing Oscar on the piano, Grundgetta on the saxophone, Joe (Hunt) on the bass, and Max (Martin P. Robinson) with a fish and a tire. The kids identify the latter as the odd items out as they're the only ones that aren't musical instruments, but Oscar says that Max is the best tire and fish man this side of Toledo. The group plays a jazzy but lousy tune, with Max beating the tire with the fish. |

SCENE 5 | It's nighttime and Oscar is ready to give Telly his piano lesson. He tells him to just start hitting keys to get the feel of the instrument. Telly plays too softly, so Oscar encourages to play louder (he'll know when it's loud enough). Once Telly really starts banging away at random keys, Gordon and Susan start shouting that they're trying to sleep. To ease Telly's worry, Mrs. Trump shows up to play a soothing tune. Oscar recoils in despair as Maria announces the sponsors. |
