SCENE 1 Big Bird greets David at the door of Hooper's Store and says he can't tell him anything about the surprise waiting for him inside. But, through a series of unsolicited and inadvertent clues, David figures out that it's his Grandma Grace. When he opens the doors and gives her a hug, Big Bird takes to the camera, "I guess it's impossible to fool some people."

SCENE 3 Snuffy is nervous to meet Grandma Grace because he knows she's never met a snuffleupagus before. Grace enters Big Bird's nest to find Snuffy weighing his options to go home or stay and meet David's grandma. She convinces him to stay because she'd probably love to meet him; she knows because David's grandma is already here! Snuffy is surprised that she looks nothing like his own grandmother, but Grace assures him she's like her in other ways.

Meanwhile, Big Bird meets David outside wondering where Snuffy and Grace are, hoping they don't miss the chance to meet one another. When they open the door, they find the pair have already met and are already well into reading a storybook together.

Cartoon A peasant tries to woo a pretty girl by reciting the famous "Roses are Red" poem. The lines are fed to him by a poet behind a bush, whom she eventually runs off with.
