SCENE 1 At the Fix-it Shop, Jason watches Maria attempt to fix a clock. He offers to help but she doesn’t think he could help her around the shop. While she concentrates on her work, Jason answers the phone and reads the hours of the shop from a sign on the cash register. David enters needing a pencil, and Bob enters to pick up and pay for his fixed metronome; Jason assists them both. As Jason is about to leave, Maria accidentally lets go of the spring on the clock and needs Jason’s help herself.
