Forgetful suggests that maybe the paper is broken, but David proves this wrong and whips out a pen and scribbles on the paper. Forgetful asks to borrow his pen and notices the pen has ink in it and the carrot doesn't - and jumps to the conclusion that the carrot is out of ink, and soon asks David for a fresh carrot. | |

- During the first scene, the Count reassures a nervous Snuffy that he will do just fine in helping him. He briefly holds up his hand and says it as if trying to hypnotize him, harkening back to the Count's early habit of hypnotizing others.
