SCENE 1 | Maria is strolling along Sesame Street when she finds a "Se Habla Español" sign outside Hooper's Store. She walks in and sees David, who explains to her he doesn't speak Spanish, but since Piri called in sick he decided to call an agency who'll bring him someone who speaks Spanish, of which he is awaiting. David then remembers he has to go make a delivery and asks Maria to watch over the store and keep an eye out for the new assistant. Soon after, Gladys the Cow walks through the door singing "Guantanamera," coming in for her new job. Maria is surprised and questions her in Spanish, but Gladys admits the only word she knows is "leche," the Spanish word for "milk." Maria explains to her that she needs to know a variety of different words in Spanish and that she should confess to David, but just as she does three Anything Muppets come by and ask for servings of leche. | |
