SCENE 1 Luis tells Big Bird that his friend, singer Rubén Blades, is coming to visit today. Big Bird gets excited, then disappointed when Rubén arrives without his band; he thinks Rubén won't be able to sing now. Rubén assures Big Bird that he doesn't need his band and uses a hammer and screwdriver as claves as he sings a short, Spanish song.

SCENE 3 Telly has written a poem to welcome Rubén, but doesn't think it's that great. Telly has to make up words (such as "kabuben" and "Kalubin") in order to rhyme with Rubén's name, but manages to create one rhyme that makes sense - "Rubén" and "you been."
Cartoon A cat chases a mouse into a mouse hole. The cat and mouse make music as they hit the wall, until the cat breaks through the mouse hole.

SCENE 4 Telly wishes to buy a new toy, but he doesn't know how to get the money out of his piggy bank. Oscar drops by and tells him smash open the bank, which will allow him to get the broken pieces. Oscar retrieves his hammer and Telly mulls over the idea, not fully committed to the idea of losing his piggy bank in such a manner. Piri stops Oscar in the nick of time and shows them the plug on the bottom of the bank. Telly decides to cheer Oscar up by getting him a new toy instead, but Oscar fakes being okay so he can get away.
