SCENE 4 | Gladys the Cow charges Bob, Gordon, and Maria with guessing what animal she's describing with a list of obvious clues (it's a cow), but they're all very busy right now. She'd like to learn about the things they're doing, but they explain that since she has hooves, she wouldn't be able to play the flute, take pictures with a camera, or fix a clock. Seeing that Gladys is hurt by this realization, Bob and Gordon find ways to include her in their activities (Bob will give her singing lessons and Gordon will have her model for his photography), but Maria can't think of a way she can help with fixing things. Gladys is touched that Maria would care enough to try, gives her a big, wet kiss on the side of the face, and leaves. Having helped her out, Gordon and Bob feel better but Maria just feels wetter. ("Have you guys ever been kissed by a cow?") |
