SCENE 2 | Oscar has a pet he wants to enter for the Pet Show that he keeps in a shoebox. Gordon and Olivia open the box to find that it's not an animal of any kind but a shoe that Oscar names "Lou." Gordon insists Lou can't be a pet because it's not alive, but Oscar pays him no mind. He shows them Lou's trick by throwing him through a hoop situated next to his trash can. Oscar's aware that Lou's not alive, but he doesn't mind; it means no work for him. |
