SCENE 5 cont'd | As everyone sings "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" once more, a Muppet spider (Kevin Clash) appears. He's representing the Local 1 chapter of the International Brotherhood of Spiders, who are filing a union complaint against the song. The spider points out how awful the song treats the titular spider and demands either the spider reaches the top of the water spout every now and then, or the spiders should receive more money for their work - and they currently get zilch. Elmo pops up to show off his new shoes again, but Maria proposes a new, positive version of the song. The spider likes it (but remarks he'd prefer the money) and he goes to meet with the union for "spiderficaiton." Elmo announces the sponsors and brags about his new shoes once more. |
Notes[]
- A marionette version of Elmo is used when he runs around during scene 1.
- According to scene 3, Oscar has a total of 441 old shoes in his collection.
