SCENE 1 Maria disposes of some trash on a nice, quiet morning on Sesame Street, when Oscar's trash can loudly emits the sound of an alarm clock. Oscar, annoyed by the sound, tosses it from the can and Maria catches it. She asks why he'd try to get rid of it and explains why its useful. Oscar theorizes that if it didn't go off, he'd get a good night's sleep, feel rested, and get to do various tranquil activities.
