SCENE 1 Sitting at Hooper's Store doing her homework, Gina welcomes the viewer and notes that she needs a job so she can earn some money to buy her mom a birthday present. While she puts her headphones on to listen to some music as she works, David comments to himself that he could use some extra help around the store. He almost tells Gina his problem when he's interrupted by both a phone order and some overcooked soup. David reminds himself of all the other tasks he must do, but first makes a "HELP WANTED" sign and puts it in the store window.

SCENE 2 Dressed in aviator attire, Meryl Sheep comes in to answer the HELP WANTED sign. She thinks working at Hooper's Store will be adventurous, enabling her to do such heroic things as sail the sea to catch tuna fish for sandwiches, or throw a rope down to Elmo if he falls into a cereal bowl. David explains that working at Hooper's doesn't involve such adventure, and she loses interest. David again vents to the viewer how he really needs someone to help out at the store as he gives the equally oblivious Gina a second serving of lemonade.

SCENE 3 Oscar thinks he can help David, but David is suspicious given his pranking nature. Oscar then demonstrates his "upside-down surprise" when it is requested by Grundgetta and another Grouch (David Rudman): a pan with some pickles, sardines, and whipped cream. David's assumption that Oscar is going to turn the pan upside-down results in a tug-of-war argument between them, topped off with a big SPLAT! onto David's shirt. The Grouches flee.

When she exits, Gina considers asking Maria about a potential job before returning to her homework and lemonade.
