Placido demonstrates on Maria how he would say goodbye to his love in the opera, when he finds himself falling in love with her! He departs singing her name, assuring he'll be visiting her later tonight.

The Amazing Mumford arrives to help out, but Maria turns him away, knowing his magic will end up making her quack like a duck somehow. Instead, he gives his duck the voice of Maria, so Luis and Placido can each have a suitable Maria. "Let Luis love the duck," Placido tells him and continues to sing to his beloved.

SCENE 6 Maria and Placido discuss their relationship once more and Placido decides it's time to say goodbye. Maria assures him they'll still be friends and see each other on the street quite often, but Placido was referring to the viewer; it's time to say goodbye to them. He recites the sponsors and after the credits roll, he sings a goodbye note.
