SCENE 4 Telly helps Luis unpack. He puts Luis's plants on the bookshelf next to Maria's, but there isn't room for all of them. He worries about the homeless plant until Maria tells him to put it on the coffee table. Then Maria tells him to move all the plants off the bookshelf to make room for Luis's books. He worries that if their things don't all fit in the apartment, they will regret getting married. The plants find a home on the window sill, but one doesn't fit. Maria gives it to Telly, who is very happy, but worries that if it grows to be a tree someday then there won't be room for it in his apartment either.

Luis tells him to get a grip, they'll figure it out. Maria says she is sorry but she can't think of any place for them...until she sees that they are all of her. Then she tells him he can put them wherever he wants.

SCENE 6 The phone rings, and Luis tells Maria to get it. She tells him to get it--he lives there too, now, it could be for him. They can't find the phone among the boxes so they miss the call, but Luis remarks that that was their first living-together married phone call. The phone rings again and they pick it up. It is Big Bird, calling to tell them that Sesame Street has been brought to you today by the letters H and T, and by the number 5, and that Sesame Street is a production of Children's Television Workshop.
