SCENE 1 cont'd | Buster then delivers the morning news. Today's top story come straight from the Fix-It Shop, where Big Bird has learned about the number 0. Buster conducts a satellite interview with Big Bird from outside the shop, where Big Bird demonstrates how he learned it. He tried counting to 0 using his 5 oranges, but they always totaled 5 no matter how he arranged them. He discovered that by putting them in a box one at a time, he could count down to 0. As Big Bird begins listing off the other things he can now count 0 of, Buster cuts to a report from Sal the skydiver...

Insert | While fixing Big Bird's record player, Luis tells him of a story he's reading about Captain Swashbuckle, a pirate. He tells Big Bird a synopsis of what he's read so far, but Big Bird throws several ideas what happens next, such as Swashbuckle having run-ins with a giant fish and bird. Luis reads him the remainder of the story: Captain Swashbuckle is sailing in a storm, when Luis' phone rings, and he must put the story on hold. Big Bird then thinks up the obvious ending - the bad guys call Swashbuckle and call off the fight because of rain. (First: Episode 2173)
SCENE 2 cont'd | Back in the studio, Big Bird joins Gladys for an interview. Big Bird had since been given the Captain Swashbuckle book to read and he's so engrossed in the book, he virtually ignores Gladys' questions. Good Day Sesame Street will return after this word - love.
