Susan has baked his favorite cake (mud chiffon upside down), Gina has a present (a 1918 tomato can for his collection) and Uncle Wally has a broken record (of "[[Telephone Rock]]"). [[Oscar the Grouch|Oscar]] comes from his can and fumes over their gesture - he's given him exactly what he wanted, which is no way to treat a Grouch. He yells that he hates birthdays, but complies with blowing out the candle; he wishes everyone would leave him alone. Everyone snaps back, promising never to try this type of stunt again, then leaving. "I didn't know they cared," Oscar notes.
