SCENE 1 Big Bird greets the viewer, and notes that Barkley seems happy today, especially when playing fetch with his new doggy toy. However, he misses his jump and hurts one of his legs, which makes him sad. Linda and Bob escort him to the vet's.

SCENE 2 cont'd At the vet's office, the vet notices no broken bones or fractures in Barkley's x-ray. He studies his leg and concludes that Barkley must have sprained his elbow. He gives the dog some aspirin and prescribes soaking the leg in ice water, while also making sure he lies down for the rest of the day (which Linda is skeptical of considering her dog's behavior).

The plan doesn't quite work, but the two know they can think of something.

Telly is amazed at how she is able to get Oscar to cooperate with her - she tells him she can get lost as long as he lets Barkley in the backseat. The plan seems to work, as Barkley starts to relax quickly after getting in.
