Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 Shelley the Turtle is about to welcome the viewer when Barkley's presence frightens him into his shell. Gordon asks Shelley to come out and say hi to Barkley, but he declines. Linda takes Barkley for a walk so that Gordon can take Shelley to Hooper's and talk to him.

Gordon and Gina try to coax him out in various ways, but he still won't come out. When they use reverse psychology and ask him to speak up, he does come out and finally admits he's afraid of Barkley.

He's not as afraid anymore, but he ducks away again when the real Barkley returns from his walk.

Shelley does what he has practiced and actually becomes friends with Barkley! "Sometimes when you're afraid of something, the best way to stop being afraid is to try doing it," Gordon tells the viewer.

Gina announces the sponsors, taking a moment to ask Shelley how he feels.
