SCENE 1 Big Bird greets the viewer, when he's interrupted by a special report from "Sesame Street News." Anchor animal Buster the Horse announces that tomorrow, Miles, Caroline and Travis will be starting kindergarten, and today's broadcast will take an in-depth look at how everyone will get them get ready. Big Bird strolls into frame, looking forward to the report (unaware he's blocking the camera's view of Buster).
Cartoon A boy listens to his surroundings by the ocean, until his mom calls him for lunch.

SCENE 4 Sesame Street News has assembled a panel of experts to discuss their time in kindergarten. Mike remembers loving kindergarten, Susan remembers it being the first time she ever rode a bus and Esther the Goldfish claims her kindergarten experience was "very, very wet."

She sees that his gift is a map of the area, so the kids know where their kindergarten building is in relation to Sesame Street. Big Bird adds that the map is courtesy of Mr. Snuffleupagus, whose Snufflegarten building is right across the street (as indicated by the large building on the map).
