He is initially unaware that there is more to do than count the mail he delivers, as Gina explains how people can't just wait while he counts everything. After seeing how happy Gina becomes when she gets an important letter, he intends to do the job correctly so he can count more happy recipients.

She shows where it is on a globe, and explains how letters are sent to Australia from Sesame Street and back again. Telly wishes he could have a pen pal, but doesn't know anybody in Australia or any other country. Gina recommends he start locally and Telly rushes off, intending to make Oscar his pen pal.
