SCENE 1 At the library, Bob has trouble concentrating on his book when Gladys the Cow enters, clanking her cowbell. Gladys would feel un-cow-like without it and refuses to take it off, so Linda stuffs it with Bob's handkerchief to prevent any more noise. Just when all is quiet again (and Gladys believes her new look is making a fashion statement), a pair of Honkers cause a ruckus while listening to a record nearby.
Song "What to Do Before We Eat?" We wash our hands, not our feet.

He's brought the dog to the library so Linda and Bob can watch him, but they want to enjoy Linda's afternoon off in the park. Linda is much more inclined to take care of Preposterous, and the two briefly argue before agreeing to take Preposterous with them. Linda happens to find the pup very cute, but after seeing her do baby talk to Preposterous, Oscar realizes he needs to find someone else.
