Picture Segment Description
SCENE 1 In the wee hours of the morning, Hiroshi greets the viewer, assuming he's the only one up at the moment. He then sees Hoots the Owl having a hard time getting Athena to go to sleep for the day. Hiroshi tries with a bedtime story he recalls from childhood, "Peach Boy." Athena finds the story exciting and remains awake.
Cartoon Bruce the moose invites Toulouse LaGoose over for juice.

Film In a village in Africa, people catch fish and celebrate afterwards.

Muppets Ernie & Bert β€” Ernie can't sleep, so Bert tells him to count sheep. Ernie tries to count sheep, but it's dull -- so he starts counting fire engines. The noise from the imaginary fire engine wakes Bert up. Bert says that Ernie's waking up the whole neighborhood, and tells him to count something quieter. Ernie counts balloons -- but the balloon gets bigger and bigger, finally bursting with a huge explosion that wakes Bert up again.

SCENE 2 Elmo climbs onto the fence with his own suggestion - reciting the alphabet, which is what his own father does to try and put him to sleep. This method doesn't work, which Elmo claims is usually the case; he just thinks it's fun saying the alphabet. He and Athena now start some counting.
Cartoon The Ringmaster displays 12 fluttering finches.

Muppets Grover is about to talk about rhymes when a fox shows him a box that has locks and a hand inside that knocks and drops rocks and socks. An ox comes by and reveals he's the owner of the box. After all the commotion, Grover tries to finish his talk, but can't think of any rhymes.

SCENE 4 Alice keeps trying to play with Snuffy, still with a wide-awake Athena on his back. Maria recommends they play an imagination game, as they all pretend to be dogs and ducks. Snuffy notices Athena has finally fallen asleep. He declines Maria's offer to join herself and Gabi at the park, not wanting to wake up Athena. He imagines he's at the park instead.
