Picture Segment Description
SCENE 1 Gina is writing a story for school; Ruby, in her admiration of Gina, is doing the same. Her story is a fairy tale entitled "Ginarella" and she begins to read it...

SCENE 1 cont'd Once upon a time, a young girl named Ginarella slaved away at the family candy store (Hooper's Store). She washes the dishes as her snobbish sisters (Susan and Maria) and her grouchy mother (Grundgetta) bark orders at her. Ginarella bemoans the fact that all these chores will prevent her from attending the big dance party at the palace tonight, where her favorite band in the kingdom - Prince and the Charmings - will be playing. The rest of her family leaves to pick out some new outfits for the evening, while Ginarella sighs about her fate while admiring her framed picture of Prince.
SCENE 1 cont'd Thus ends chapter one of "Ginarella," but what happens next? Ruby hasn't written anything more yet, but begins to work on the rest of the story.

SCENE 2 In Chapter Two, Ginarella sadly begins her chores when she hears a sample of some music from an unknown source. Suddenly, in a puff of smoke, the store magically becomes clean. This is the work of Ginarella's Fairy Snufflemother. Ginarella's sadness hasn't faded yet, as she feels she still can't go to the dance wearing the dirty rags she has on. With a chant of the magic words "Rumple bumple bumple pumple," Ginarella now has a beautiful party gown and glass slippers. The Fairy Snufflemother bids her farewell, warning her to be back by midnight or the spell will wear off.
Ruby will continue with Chapter Three as soon as she's finished writing it...

Prince then declares that he will share a dance with a special girl in the crowd. He skips right past Ginarella's sisters, but finds himself drawn to Ginarella. Just as he invites her to dance, the clock begins to strike twelve. As much as she'd love to stay and dance, Ginarella runs off before the spell wears off. Prince is left heartbroken, having fallen in love with the girl he's just met. All he has left of her is the glass slipper she's accidentally left behind. Depressed, Prince rejoins the band to perform a verse of "Sad."

He and his group arrive outside Ginarella's family's candy store, where Ginarella and her family are waiting. Prince and the Charmings set up their stage, with a special tableau Prince uses as a test to find the mysterious girl. The glass slipper is situated in a quadrant with three sneakers, as Prince sings a rock version of "Three of These Things." Ginarella's mom and sisters pick all but the right answer, which Ginarella correctly guesses. Prince proposes they get married and she join him on his Monster Tour of the kingdom. Ginarella tells him she'd like to finish school first, then pursue a career as a scientist, then get married. Prince agrees to this and Ginarella gives him a peck on the cheek.
SCENE 4 cont'd Ruby wraps up the story and intends to read it to Gina later, then admits she'd like to be just like Gina when she's older.

Notes[]

  • The performances of Prince and the Charmings at the party use audio recordings originally made for Little Jerry and the Monotones, Gina's favorite band. The version of "With Every Beat of My Heart” used here is the original one recorded for the Every Body's Record album, which includes the sounds of the group's screaming fans.
  • The rock music used for the "Three of These Things" game was previously used in Episode 2621. The rock tune heard when the Prince scours the ball for his true love was previously used in Episode 2146 on Piri's radio.
  • Sleeping Beauty, as seen in the previous episode, is among those dancing at Prince's party.
