SCENE 1 Snuffy comes by to pick up Big Bird for a picnic in Central Park with Mommy Snuffleupagus and Alice. However, as Susan reports, Big Bird has come down with the flu and is unable to go. Big Bird promises him they can try again some other time.

Snuffy wants to as well, but they can't both hold it at the same time. They eventually find a solution - Alice holds onto Mommy's tail and Snuffy holds onto Alice's.

SCENE 5 Alice takes her nap, so Snuffy uses the time to find a phone and get an update on Big Bird. He becomes distracted by a balloon vendor, missing one phone booth at the park's edge. He misses another as workmen block his view with a piece of plywood.

Snuffy eventually wanders all the way back to Sesame Street, remember that Big Bird has a telephone. When he makes it to his nest, Big Bird tells it how pointless making a call from his own phone would be and wonders why he didn't use a phone elsewhere in the city. He shows Snuffy a "TELEPHONE" sign which he can use to find one. Snuffy heads out to find a phone and finally finds a booth, having a brief conversation with Big Bird before returning to the park.

SCENE 6 Snuffy and Alice wait under a tree for Mommy to return with a special surprise - a large balloon! She tells them they can use it to play "Run with the Balloon" and that they need to cooperate if the two of them one to use one balloon. They tie it to both their snuffles and set off running. Alice trips, causing the balloon to drift up to the sky. Mommy initiates a new game, "The Watching A Balloon Go Higher And Higher In The Sky" Game!" She remarks, "Sometimes mommies have to think very fast!"

SCENE 7 Susan checks Big Bird's temperature and he's all well now. She allows him to take a brief walk before getting some rest. They run into Snuffy just outside and he tells them all about the balloon they lost.


SCENE 7 After Big Bird wonders where the balloon went, they both go back to the nest, where Snuffy tells Big Bird about the rest of his day... including the sponsors, which he and Big Bird announce. The credits follow.
