Susan has baked his favorite cake (mud chiffon upside down), Gina has a present (a 1918 tomato can for his collection), and Uncle Wally has a broken record (of "Telephone Rock"). Oscar comes from his can and fumes over their gesture - they've given him exactly what he wanted, which is no way to treat a Grouch. He yells that he hates birthdays, but complies with blowing out the candle; he wishes everyone would leave him alone. Everyone snaps back, promising never to try this type of stunt again before leaving. Oscar is impressed, saying, "How do you like that? And I didn't think they cared." | |
