SCENE 1 Big Bird welcomes the viewer, joined by a small group of tourist birds visiting from the country. They've never seen an apartment before, so Big Bird intends on taking them up to Bob's. Bob wants some peace and quiet to get his work done, but allows them to stay for a few minutes when he sees how disappointed they are. They noisily inspect his piano and bookcase, then Bob himself, before he asks them to leave. Big Bird leads them out, promising to return in fifteen minutes for a tour of the bedroom.

Mumford instead has a magic trick than can duplicate the book. He waves his wand and Bob's book disappears instead. "Sorry, Bob. A printing error," he says and tries to bring it back. Bob's book returns, but he discovers the ending is not what it was before - it now reads the day's sponsors. Mumford considers that a happy ending and struts off, as Bob demands his original ending back.
