SCENE 3 | Rosita introduces herself to Mr. Handford, who learns to pronounce her full name: "Rosita, La Monstrua de las Cuevas." An elderly woman (Camille Bonora) comes into Hooper's Store to use the telephone so she can call her granddaughter. This inspires Rosita, a granddaughter herself, to show the woman how she hugs and kisses her grandmother. The woman remembers that her granddaughter isn't home, so she decides instead to call her niece. Rosita then demonstrates the dances she learned from her aunt, and starts dancing the merengue with the woman. Slightly flustered, the woman remembers that her niece isn't home either and is about to call a friend, when Rosita shows how she jumps around with her friends. Now exhausted, the woman finally decides to go home to her dog. Rosita shows how she chases her dog, chasing the woman out of the store. Mr. Handford notes that Rosita is a very interesting monster.
