	COLD OPEN	Elmo is wearing his "imagination hat" today. He tells the viewer that he's now going to imagine Big Bird and the kids playing and running outdoors. The theme sequence follows.
	SCENE 1	Elmo claims that he can imagine anything when he wears his hat. While thinking of what to imagine next, Mike stops by to pick him up for their bike ride in the park today. Elmo decides to imagine some more after the bike ride.

	Cast	Gordon hosts "What Happens Next," in which the viewer has to guess what kind of humiliation Charlie Chaplin is going to face before Gordon rings the Dinger's ding-dong bell. First the tramp slips on a banana peel, then collapses when sitting on a three-legged bench. Finally, when a rain cloud is about to rain on him, he shifts the cloud over to the left of the screen so it rains on Gordon instead. (EKA: Episode 2407)

	SCENE 2	Mike brings Elmo back to the arbor, where he is about to put on his imagination hat - but he notices that it's missing! Elmo remembers Mike strapping him into the seat, him telling Elmo to take off the imagination hat, explaining why helmets are needed for bike riding, and tucking the imagination hat next to Elmo. Mike takes Elmo back to the park so they can look for it.

	SCENE 3	Mike and Elmo are back from the park, still without Elmo's imagination hat. Alex brings the Yellow Pages over so they can find a place with lost hats. They look inside, and find a listing for the "Bureau of Lost Hats," which just might have Elmo's hat ...

	Muppets	In honor of Charlie's birthday, Grover is only serving items that begin with a "CH" sound. Mr. Johnson orders a cheeseburger, chips, cherry pie, and chocolate ice cream, and he actually gets his food in no time, but before he can eat, the table (which the plate is on) gets taken away because it does not begin with a "CH" sound. 	SCENE 4	Elmo and Mike go downtown, where they find an office which reads "BUREAU OF LOST _ATS". They enter the office, and find a lot of bats flying around. A man sits at a desk, looking over some forms. Mike confirms that this is the Bureau of Lost Hats, but the man doesn't know the difference, since it's his first day on the job. He tells Mike and Elmo to wait outside while he makes some changes.
	SCENE 4 cont'd	When they re-enter the office, they find the man surrounded by a gaggle of cats (including Chip and Dip, a tiger, and a lion). Mike reminds him why they're here, emphasizing that they're looking for a hat, and not a bat or a cat.
	SCENE 4 cont'd	Mike and Elmo walk outside again to wait, and when they re-enter the office once again, there are plenty of hats to go around. Elmo specifies that he's looking for a green hat, but the man is so fed up with his mistakes that he decides to quit, and storms out of his office.

	Film	A girl goes to school somewhere in Africa. We see the girl getting ready to go to school, as she washes herself and brushes her teeth, puts on her clothes, brushes her hair, and takes her lunch, all with some help from her mother. We see her walking past her neighbors and watching her classmates play outside as she arrives at school. The bell rings and the girl enters the school, where the teacher is passing out chalk to her students. We see the teacher teaching the students the English words: "a boy", "a girl", "a man", and "a woman", which she has written on the board, along with a drawing for each word. The students repeat the words, then write them down on their individual chalkboards as we hear the girl remark, "We are learning to read and write." The students then jump up and down, as the teacher looks on, smiling. Next, we see the students jumping outside excitedly, now that school has finished. (EKA: Episode 2783)

	Muppets	Ernie prepares to go to the laundromat, putting numerous things in the laundry basket, including storybooks, cookies, his boots, and a radio. Before long, the basket has no room for the laundry, so Ernie decides to go play baseball instead. (EKA: Episode 0673)

	SCENE 5	The bureau man, who decided not to quit after all, has filled the office with green hats, to see if Elmo's imagination hat is among them. Mike reminds Elmo about the other features of his hat: it's also small, and pointy, has a feather, and has Elmo's name written inside it. The bureau man tries hard to find one that fits his description, but they don't find it. Mike and Elmo sadly leave the office, while the bureau man and his secretary have to deal with more hats, cats and bats.

	SCENE 6	Back on Sesame Street, Alex suggests that Elmo try imagining without his hat. Elmo decides to imagine himself finding his hat, and feels better after doing so.
	SCENE 6 cont'd	Just as Elmo starts imagining again, the bureau man comes back with Elmo's lost hat! Elmo almost doesn't notice it, however, because he's busy imagining. He puts the hat back on, and the bureau man cries tears of joy.
