SCENE 1 Mr. Handford, Samantha, and Alexis welcome the viewer when Mr. Handford notices Chicago looking very sad. He feels rotten because he's small and eats vegetables, which makes him different from all the other lions. Mr. Handford points out more of Chicago's unique attributes which makes him very special: "A friendly, gentle, small lion that eats vegetables is my kind of lion! If you ask me, it's the perfect combination for a lion living here on Sesame Street." Chicago lets out a proud roar now that he's aware of how accepted he is and orders a broccoli-filled lunch.

SCENE 2 Chicago finishes his lunch and Mr. Handford jokes, "I guess you're finished unless you want to lick the plate." Chicago takes this literally, sending veggie debris all over the counter of Hooper's Store. Chicago now thinks Mr. Handford is angry with him, but Handford explains that he's not. Chicago happily runs off with the plate, saying he'll bring it back later.
Song "The First Time" - Children try various activities (riding tricycles, tying shoes, etc.) and progressively improve.

SCENE 3 Monty introduces an exciting movie, "The Adventures of the Pineapple Dentist." He brings out a pineapple while Prairie Dawn is confused, because as she shows Monty and the kids, pineapples don't have teeth and thus do not need dentists. Instead, Monty introduces a different film, with a llama dentist. He produces a picture of one to show that llamas have teeth, so this one makes more sense; Prairie still finds the idea of such a film ridiculous.

SCENE 3 cont'd Both Monty and Prairie liked the segment that was just shown, and Prairie says she knows what she wants to be when she grows up. Monty thinks it's a llama, but she wants to be a dentist. She shows Monty what a dentist does by making him a pretend patient. Monty, however, still thinks his pineapple needs its teeth checked and drives a frustrated Prairie away.
