COLD OPEN At her day care center, Lillian tells the viewer that today is Herry's first day at day care. He sadly says goodbye to his mother at the door, but Lillian tells him that he'll have a great day.

SCENE 1 Lillian finds out what everybody wants to play with, but Herry just wants to wait until his mother returns. To make him feel better, Lillian sings him a special song, the "Miss Your Mama Blues", which Herry sings along with. In the song, Lillian mentions the things they can do together to make him feel better and join the other kids.

SCENE 2 Herry and Daniel play "table patterns", where they drum out rhythmic patterns with blocks on the table. Daniel, who is blind, explains that he can hear the patterns rather than watching Herry do them. He also uses his nose to tell when lunch is ready, and guesses everything that Lillian has prepared.

Muppets Upon Mr. Johnson's latest visit to Charlie's Restaurant, the waitstaff has been implemented with a new service device. Grover instructs his guest to ring the bell three times to get his attention, instead of yelling across such an upper-crust establishment. After Mr. Johnson has trouble deciphering the speed with which he must ring the bell, he calls Andre the manager out to address his concerns. Andre, having been interrupted while eating a sour cream soufflé, doesn't think there's anything wrong with the bell. In fact, he thinks it looks so good that he eats it, as Mr. Johnson notices the time, and rushes out of the restaurant.

Film A girl goes to school somewhere in Africa. We see the girl getting ready to go to school, as she washes herself and brushes her teeth, puts on her clothes, brushes her hair, and takes her lunch, all with some help from her mother. We see her walking past her neighbors and watching her classmates play outside as she arrives at school. The bell rings and the girl enters the school, where the teacher is passing out chalk to her students. We see the teacher teaching the students the English words: "a boy", "a girl", "a man", "a woman," which she has written on the board, along with a drawing for each word. The students repeat the words, then write them down on their individual chalkboards as we hear the girl remark, "We are learning to read and write." The students then jump up and down, as the teacher looks on, smiling. Next, we see the students jumping outside excitedly, now that school has finished.

SCENE 5 Back at Hooper's, Elmo now has a present for the fan, and he wants to see the fan open it. Mr. Handford is skeptical that it can be done... until he sees the fan blow all of the paper and ribbon off. The present's box is empty, since Elmo can't figure out what you're supposed to give a fan. Mr. Handford announces the sponsors.
