COLD OPEN | Telly rushes over to the kids on the playground to tell them that the Grand High Triangle Lover is visiting today, and will share a story about how he earned that position. Telly wonders when the GHTL will arrive, and Nathan guesses right after the song...
SCENE 1 | As predicted, the theme song finishes and the Grand High Triangle Lover arrives. The always-dinging Norman is with him as usual, but he personally doesn't find the GHTL's origin story very exciting. He begins to tell it himself when the GHTL quickly shushes him, then sends him off to dust his triangle collection. With Norm out of the way, the GHTL begins his story, which begins in the kingdom of Canarsie...
SCENE 1 cont'd | In the kingdom, there was a large stone in the middle of the town square with sticks stuck in it, and whoever could pull them from the stone would become a powerful leader. "Millions" of villagers (including such luminaries as Cy the pastrami farmer and Prunella the nail painter) came far and wide to try and remove the sticks as the GHTL counts them off, but to no avail.
SCENE 1 cont'd | After Telly points out the "millions" of villagers turned out to be only 13, Norm arrives back, having finished his task. The GHTL takes him away for another errand (so he won't ruin the story) and assures them he'll be back in a moment.

SCENE 2 cont'd | Lou (the GHTL's real name) and Norm dance their way to the bowling alley (where they work at the bowling shoe counter), when Lou notices the stone. Norm reminds him that every day he's tried to pull the sticks, but never does. Just as they're about to resume their walk, the stone speaks and makes him an offer he can't refuse; the stone (who prefers to be called Jon) has decided Lou will be the one who will be able to pull the sticks out. Using all his might, he pulls the sticks from the stone! But before he can become a powerful leader, the stone informs him that he needs to make something from the three sticks.
SCENE 2 cont'd | Back in the present, Norm returns, telling the GHTL that his task of alphabetizing his triangles seemed futile. The GHTL suggests he name them first and brings him away to show him. Norm is getting suspicious...

Norm tries to give him inspiration from his lunch. The round doughnut and square sandwich won't work, but the triangular tortilla chip gives him inspiration to make... a triangle! Now that he made something, the stone appoints him the position of Grand High Triangle Lover. He tells Norm (who has finished off Lou's lunch) to forget calling him "Lou" and start calling him "Boss."
